#And this right here is why Makorra will never give me the happies.

This isn’t reason for Makorra not to give you happiness.

People get hurt all the time. This is the reason to love Asami. Because Asami stayed strong. Asami wasn’t angry at Korra, and she didn’t let her sadness and frustration control her.

She, at this point, had lost almost everything- her mother, her father, her home, and her boyfriend and yet Asami powers on and does what is right because she knows it’s right. Asami draws power from herself, and is truly an amazing character.

For Makorra shippers-

You realize next season Korra and Mako will be in a relationship???

I HOPE WE HAVE SOME SLIP UPS LIKE SOKKA AND SUKI’S HAHAHAHAH YES

On the Mako hate-

Everyone is hating him, but Katniss (Hunger Games) did all the same exact things he did.

Sure their situations differ (hers being far worse in a more public sense) but all in all they are the same character

Both are very caring, awkward people, who are distant and not really sure how to handle themselves who care for two people greatly (Korra is very similar to Peeta as well as Katniss, but Peeta in the love triangle sense leaving Asami to be Gale.)

It’s not about ‘who gets along better’ but about the way the characters feel/care about each other. I do feel it was rushed, but not crappy writing rushed more like 12 episodes rushed, but hey Bryke was told by Nick Legend of Korra only had one season.

Everyone asks ‘why does Korra even like Mako?’

Why does Peeta even liek Katniss *pre we almost died in an arena together*

  • She loves her family/sibling
  • She’s attractive
  • She’s talented
  • She’s stand off-ish and awkward
  • She’s a good person
  • PEETA IS LOYAL AS HELL

So look at Korra to Mako

  • He loves his family/sibling
  • He’s attractive
  • He’s talented
  • He’s stand off-ish and awkward
  • He’s a good person
  • KORRA IS LOYAL AS HELL

There is a strong parallel between the two, and while Mako ughing I think is necessary, I don’t understand the total hatred of him being a person who is figuring out his feelings much like Korra.

Both Peeta and Korra popped up at a strange time in both character’s lives as well as hung on until the end, resulting in Makorra and Peenis.

And hey I ship Makorra, and I didn’t think the ending was terrible, rushed, but understandable and not terrible.

THE END :D

In the Avatar State, you are at your most powerful.

#but okay no #no no no #this isn’t how this was supposed to happen #in the red gifs where aang is in the avatar state he WORKED for that #he spent three seasons coming to terms with his destiny and with his responsibility to the world as the avatar #and two of those three seasons showed him triggering the avatar state through fits of rage and pain #he went through three seasons of development #three seasons where he had to let go of katara and realize what exactly being the avatar meant to him and what it entailed #and then #korra’s time comes around and she’s just given the avatar state #she cries about how she’s failed (BECAUSE AANG NEVER DID THAT AND THAT WASN’T PART OF HIS DEVELOPMENT) and that’s enough to bring aang forth #and apparently she’s mastered the avatar state #no #aang had to go through hell to be able to master the avatar state and reach his goal #and korra i love you korra i do #but you deserve so much more #you deserve a fantastic story arc because you’re a fantastic character #you deserve growth and depth and internal conflict and not the easily reached fate you got #i’m sorry baby #i love you #i do.

…Okay, maybe I’m the only person who thinks this, but I didn’t think this scene above was Korra’s mastering the Avatar State at all? I thought her entering it at that ending was a confirmation of her finally getting in touch with her spiritual side, not a symbolic representation of them saying she’s done with her journey. She unconsciously calls Aang when she needs help the most; his (and the other Avatars’) appearance was, I thought, meant to represent the importance of that contact, something she’s struggled with the entire season, not to say “good job you’re done” but more to say “this is just the beginning,” and her entering the AS afterwards was more of a result of it, a triggered side-effect of her first contact with the previous Avatars, not her mastery of it. She still needs to master airbending, and after that comes mastering and controlling herself while in the AS during an emotional/traumatic time like Aang did, so no, she’s definitely not done. If Bryke was planning to end here it… idk, it doesn’t feel like a resolute ending like Aang’s story does: they left it open enough in AtlA to give the audience an idea of how the gaang’s adventures continued, while here they (I assumed, at least) let us know that her story (her “legend” if we want to get technical) isn’t over just because it’s the final episode. When I was watching it I wasn’t thinking “Oh yay now she’s a fully-realized Avatar!” (because she isn’t lbr), I was thinking “Oh YES now she’s gotten in touch with what she’s been struggling for the entire season and now she’s ready to start understanding and controlling it.”

But… maybe I’m the only one who thought that? Okay…

But you can’t forget, Aang only knew for a few years he was the avatar. Korra knew her entire life. Her entire life has been about being the avatar- she’s been preparing quite a while just unsure of how to until she was at her  lowest and able to mentally be the avatar in another way.

Korra and the avatar state

I’ve always felt that the avatar state makes up for what the avatar lacks

For example Aang didn’t like to fight, and when he did it was highly defensive, so whenever he needed to fight and be far more than defensive that avatar state kicked in.

I feel like it’s the same for Korra, but it’s not the ability to fight that she lacks, but rather the ability to be in touch with her spiritual side, so that’s when the avatar state kicked in for her.

Honestly I liked it, I don’t know what everyone is crabbing about.

Except Mako didn’t really break up with Asami. Ever….

But this episode gave me so many feels, I love everyone on this show. I just wish Tahno was there. Omg, great one sided Tahorra fic in my head. I’ll do it.

I’m so excited for the finale! I know I posted this a while ago, but I really want Bryke to see it (or megannn). She made a comment that made me make it even though she has NO CLUE who I am

I made this before the first episode premiered and it’s still getting views and comments, and tomorrow is the finale!!!

Anyways :D

How would Asami being an equalist ruin her character?

I keep reading this and it makes no sense.

I’d be pumped if she was an equalist. So far she has bored me to tears. I’m ready for some bad-ass Equalist Asami to disprove Korra claim of Asami being prissy (Not that I don’t love Korra- I do).

If Asami was an equalist I’d love her so much more and she looks soo much like Lust, and Lust dates Havoc and pretends to be innocent and unaware of the brewing battle-

I mean she is just so unaware. You think being a nonbender would make her at least somewhat aware!

And then there’s the case of her mother being dead (I have a feeling she was KILLED)

Anyway if Asami is an equalist more power to her

and if she’s not- well- I hope we ge to see some badassery somehow….
